Raha Curry

I'm Ash, founder of Raha Curry and Raha Indian Cuisine, our restaurant in Dundalk, Co. Louth. My story starts in India, in a home where food was more than a meal, it was a legacy. My family has worked in spice trading and hospitality for generations, and I grew up surrounded by the scents of freshly ground spices, slow-cooked curries, and the warmth of constant guests at our table. Those flavours shaped my childhood and taught me the value of honest, heartfelt cooking. 

When I moved to Ireland, I immediately felt at home in its warmth, community spirit, and love for food. But I missed the flavours I grew up with, the depth, the balance, the slow craft behind every dish. After spending years in the corporate world, I realised that what I truly wanted was to bring that part of my heritage back into my life. 

So in 2023, I took a leap I had only dreamed about and opened Raha Indian Cuisine in Dundalk completely on my own. I cooked, welcomed every guest, and poured my family’s traditions into every dish. The support from the community was overwhelming. Within months, Raha received multiple nominations and awards, and customers began asking how they could bring our flavours home. 

That’s how Raha Curry was born. Alongside my husband, we created a premium retail range made in small batches in Dundalk. Our Butter Chicken Ready Meal, handmade Naan, and Onion Bhaji Box stay true to the techniques I learned growing up slow cooking, careful spicing, and real ingredients. 

As a woman/ family led Irish food business rooted in Indian heritage, I’m proud to build something meaningful, sustainable, and full of heart. The SuperValu Food Academy has been a huge part of turning our restaurant story into a retail brand loved by homes across Ireland. 

Raha Curry is my journey — family, courage, tradition, and the true taste of home.
